Took a trip down to the tyre fitter today to have a look at options for going back to the standard rims. Hmm!

I've had a look at the tyre/stance thread on here and nobody seems to be doing what I'm doing (which is kinda worrying - maybe I'll set a trend).

Anyone running 185/75 at the rear (which I have stock height at the mo, but want to bring down an inch or so)? And what at the front?

I'm in two minds abut the same all round, or smaller at the front. With the same up front, I'm just a bit concerned about how high I can get the beam up on the adjusters (I'm nearly at max) and the clearance I'll have with the front wing (it's not a narrowed beam...).

Need to watch load ratings, but 165/75, 175/70 or even 175/75 at the front would make it a bit less balloon like at the front - fave's are 175/70, but can't get them reinforced so the load rating is a tad low.

Any words of wisdom?

Nick

Im running 185/75/14s with WW spindles 2.5" and red9 2" EZ Rider kit (Raised an inch with adaptors on the coil overs) with the shocks set to softish, the adaptors allow a bit more suspension movement for comfort without hitting the tubs.

The rear is standard at mo until i get my ass in gear and lower it a spline. I decided against the 4" spring plates.

This was the look with 165/65/14s, without the 1" raised adaptors

After hitting the beam on bumps in the road, and generally having to avoid every bump/dip on the tarmac i went for the above look.

Ooh, thanks - that's brill. As I thought, the 185/75 14s fill the wheelarch quite a bit....

Were the 165/65s really on 14" wheels? They look rather like my current 15" ones.

Starting to think I will have to drop the rear a bit with the 185/75s - prob using the creative adjustable spring plates (that'll give me 40mm +/- half an inch,I think). And perhaps 165/75s on the front (which do come as commercials, so 93 rated).

Thanks for the pics. Mind you, the whitewalls give it a different look too... hmm, interesting.

Yes the 165/65s are on 14s, honest :D

Good luck, its a mindfield choosing wheels and tyre sizes.....
