vdo dipstick temp sender

Anyone got one of these fitted?

The one i got is really quite long so would stick out is this a common thing?

yes and yes! i had to bend mine too, very gently!!

Ah just answered my own question, you can adjust the grum screw to get it to fit better.

Opened mine up, chopped it shorter (mind the wires) & now it dosent bend or get in the way of everything

As I remember it you need to solder a terminal to the outer casing & another terminal to the inner wire, hardest bit was splitting the blue body bit (its held together with plastic pins so it can be pushed back together after). Did it probably 6 or 7 years ago for my old van, its still working now so cant be too bad.
Will try and take a pic tonight if I can open it up.
