I have a 1971 bus which unfortunately has the M Code Plate missing.
The VIN has been located on a small plate under the passenger seat. Matches the V5 etc.
Anyone able to help me decode or point my in the right direction?

That doesent look right. Look in the owners manual. It will tell you where the chassis number is stamped.

If you don't have an owners manual have a look on "the samba" website where you can download and print one.

Hi

Lhd / rhd ?

I know that in SA they gave them( some) new modern VINS , but should be stamped in engine bay right hand side , look along the line where the bumper brackets attach , no vin in front window/dash ?
