Well got a V/S shifter for my birthday last December, threw it on the van and found that I struggled to get a few gears, the van was getting a AT code gearbox upgrade anyway so didn't bother doing anything to it.

Finished the box change and have played around with the position of the shifter.

1st 3rd and 4th are fine but it keep trying to hook reverse when going for 2nd despite me not pulling up on the shifter.

Has anyone got any advice on what may be causing this ?
I assume its gear shift rod bushes ?

Cheers
Sam

Try fitting it in 2nd & while clamping it down try pushing the reverse lockout plate as far to the Right as possible, it's the same pratice as a stock shifter.
I found with mine it works much better further away from the dash as possible no knocking the handbrake here.
