whatever I bought, it works - think mine is the Emden model radio
will have a look at the cable 2moro and let u know
the 70s was my era and the 5 pin din was the standard stereo connector
don't think I've ever heard of a 6 pin din
you could try Maplins as well

I've got one that i bought from Koenigs before Christmas.
Never used it. The picture shows the section that plugs into your radio.
Comes with another section which connects this to your i-pod.

Cost me £28, yours for £25 posted.

Don't waste your money if you can DIY.

2 bucks 8)

intriguing, J.nathans seems to be a 7 pin adaptor!

agree with t-booo - I'm sure I saw these plugs in maplins - all you need to do is identify which 2 pins to wire up - if you can get inside the casing of the radio this should be evident

BTW, I checked my lead before work this morning, and it is definitely a 5 pin din

My autoradio is a blaupunkt and has the 6 PIN connector (5+1). All 1967-on blaupunkt models should have this, used to connect an external tape player.

I made my cable from this HOWTO : http://users.skynet.be/antique.autoradio/Blaupunkt/Blaup_65-66/CD_MP3b.htm

This is really easy : you just need a cable, a jack connector, this DIN connector and 2 X 4,7kOhm "resistance" to turn the signal from stereo to mono.

There are howto's too for other brands/model on this site.

Hi!

I have just bought the same radio -so the Koenigs cable does the trick? Don't suppose you have details of how it all plugs in to speakers etc on the rear - I am not 100%.....

I dont have the radio here with me, is it stereo or mono? I thought as it had U (FM?) that it is stereo??

At least I have the ipod waiting if nothing else. Any helps or pics would be appreciated!!

Cheers!

Alistair

Alistair, check out the thread I started in "Technical". I was asking thesame questions yesterday...

The presence of the FM band doesn't necessarily translate to stereo - check out the DIN socket configuration at the back of the box.

Ok, I see. Mine is 5 pin DIN..... Not stereo. :-(

What connecters do i use to connect the speakers etc........?? The holes look diff to what I was thinking they were.......

if it's an old blaukpunt radio, they should be banana plugs; you can find them on Koeniggs website but can probably get them from Maplins

You can buy them for $12 (roughly 7 quid) plus postage from this German site...
