Urgently need a half decent LHD steering box.

Been warned off rebuilds as "they are just packed with grease to feel a bit better and soon go" (this true?). A second hand one off someone breaking a bus would be great.

Cheers,

Pete

Your best option will probably be to either;

-Refurb the one you have, a new peg can now be purchased from Alan Scofield

-Convert to the late bay box, the conversion is reported as being very good, Graham of Midland early bay offers a drive drive out service and from what I have read his work comes highly recommended.

graham knows his stuff i would definitely agree, i am gonna do a similar service when i have worked out how to do it and prototyped and tested it on our westy

Got one from a bloke in county durham.

Put in on the bus and theres no slop or play, so i think its a decent box, but its pissing oil. So I'm going to take the case apart and reseal it. If that deosnt work I'll grease the bugger up. Grease is bad eggs i know, but it doesn;t piss out and the box will last a long time even with grease.
