I'm interested in a rear safari window for my panel ( can't hav enough opening windows in a panel van) does any body hav one they would like to shift? Iv also heard that you can make a safari window out of mini parts has any one done this or seen this?

Hey steve! I got my rnr bed in and I was thinkin it would be nice to have some fresh air since the opening windows are all at the opposit end of the van. Are they realy that bad?

so i`ve been told but don`t let that put you off fella.......have a chat with a few geezers in brighton if you are going or ask someone on here if they have one and what they`re like....was gonna put one in mine looked at creative engineerings ones but 300 sheets soon put the mockers on that little dream :lol:

trust alls well daan saaath :mrgreen:

I no wat you mean 300 spuds is alot for a window on hinges but that is why iv posted this a leaky 2nd hand 1 must be cheaper lol. il be at breeze can't wait I got my ticket just gotta hope the van runs I cooked it on the way home from a trip away got plans to drop the engine out over the winter.

Hope all is well in your neck of the woods

i hope they dont leak. i have one in my wardrobe that i bought a while ago. cost more than 300 notes.

you could actually make one by getting some glas cut and ground around the edges, drilled then fit it in with the hinges off any other car makers pop outs and some seal from thay stall that appears at the odd show. frameless popout mmmmmmmmmm 8) . you could even make it electric usin the motors from a bimmer 325i 8)

Gadget Boy on here has one on his bus, might be worth contacting him for some info ;)

Adamski has one from Custom and Commercial. Looks cool and he assures me that they DON'T leak. I think Creative one do, Thru a Lupe has one (from Creative) that does. Hope this helps :mrgreen:

..i had heard they leaked too (no idea of make), I discussed one with an owner who was having it removed at the time, thought i may get it cheap ;) but he put me off.....

.....but was also told to be careful about driving with it open....all the exhaust fumes come in :evil:

Have a look on Bluebird Customs website - they do a frameless one for £165. See link below...

http://www.bluebird-type2.co.uk/Split%20bay%20exteriorparts.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

its about halfway down the page. I keep toying with fitting one, but not sure about watertightness - holidaying in the UK we would be better off driving submarines!!!

Cheers,
Frazer.

And how about one from the other side of the pond?

http://www.wolfgangint.com/Parts/Rear+Safari+Windows/Type+2/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

With the current exhange rate :)

yeah ive got a creative one! its sweet having it open on a hot day or at night for a bit of fresh air....
but when it rains its a slightly different story!!! probabley more my fault actually as you get a some rubber trim with a seal on it that you run round the window aperture...and stupidly i put the joint at the bottom...so it does leak a little...but not massively to be honest!

the other problem i have with the creative one is that the hinge is glued onto the frame with aircraft glue... and after 4 years... mines starting to part company at one end!!! :?

oh and lastly....as with a lot of creative stuff...come in bits and aint that easy to put together!!!!!!

hope this helps....

ive got the bluebird one it has pros and conns
it never leaks
its frameless so i think these look the best cause they keep the original lines of the bus
but they only open a inch

It will never leak in your wardrobe, unless the roof has gone off your house!! :D

I have one from them and love it. They are 60 miles from me. If you want one and they wont ship it let me know and I'll box and ship it for you.

I think for one at 165 that doesn't leak, (apparently) and one at 300 that does, (apparently) i know where my money would go! ;)

Thanks for all the feed back guys I think the bluebird verson is a contender but wat bothers me with it is it's opening width is real small and it's got 4 bolts messing up the glass but it's so much cheaper I mite be able to live with that :) cheers for the help peeps

i almost bought a bluebird window..... but it bothered me that it only opened an inch....

theres nothing like throwing the creative window wide open!!!!!
theorectically it shouldnt leak if you fit it properly....
