We've been building up to the full summer holiday. As training we have done:
Weekend camping with the 2 grown-ups,
Weekend camping with 2 grow-ups and the 2 kids,
Week touring Europe for the grown-ups,
So this was the big one, 2 weeks on the Outer Hebrides, Me and mrs and both kids.
The bus performed faultlessly, full people and gear and on very challenging terrain. :D :D :D
Visited 9 islands in 11 days, mostly wild camping on the endless, deserted beaches with the odd night on site for showers and the like.
The scenery was amazing and no problems at all wild camping with the locals all very friendly.
The Uists are quite flat with fantastic causeways linking the islands, in contrast Harris is very hilly and Lewis beautifully bleak. Skye was as wonderful as ever.
We did 1286 miles at an average of 29.1 MPG and used less than 1/2 litre of oil. :D

Sorry about the HUGE pictures

You missed Barra!
the best beaches in the outer islands
Great part of our country when the sun is shining, did you get to Calanish on Lewis? Next to Stone henge it one of the best stone circles in the UK

Sweet pics, well done for the epic journey, with kids too Dude, Respect ;)

Dylan (Analord), it's gotta be the West Coast of Ireland, it's amazing!

Cheers - yes Mrs Analord is insistent on Ireland as well.

Only every been on drunked weekends in Dublin so I think I may not have seen all Ireland has to offer!!

Yes we visited Callanish, forgetting that EVERYTHING on the isles is closed on a Sunday.
When the Ullapool to Stornaway ferry recently started running on Sundays, it ran into a tornado at sea and now everyone is saying it was the wrath of god and he could have sunk the ship if he wanted. :D

I think we're planning Ireland for next summer with a few more busses, and Orkney and Shetland are definitely on the list too.
