Just saw this on the Samba and thought I would share it as I have never seen one before.

Crazy price I know but I have been looking for a roof box for my westy poptop roof rack for a while. Has anybody found any roof boxes that fit but look good? Not a giant plastic thingy! :D

Never seen one before either, maybe it's a late bay thing?

I'm sure you can make one cheap with some marine ply, stain and varnish, would look nice.

850 is a lot of moolah

How about a roof bag instead?

Bit better priced :)

I use a roof bag and it works well...although not entirely waterproof.
Did look for a box, but nothing fitted quite right or looked good.
Do like the idea of that one though, but would certainly make my own to fit...could even make it vaguely aerodynamic!

I'd thought of the soft ones like heritages but that wooden one looks great - never seen one before - we should all chip in to buy it, then ask Faux nicely to reproduce to OG standard as he does with the poptop roof beds :D

I have looked at a few soft ones too, and it is the route I will probably end up doing. Just holding out for that perfect old roof box or freight box.

I love the look of the U-haul boxes on the MCJ Imports bus, if I could find a box like one of those to fit on the westy roofrack, that would be perfect! :D
