Just fitted mine. What a faf. I was revved up to make it absolutely perfect. I bought the expensive one from from vw heritage which has been on back order.

First one I've fitted although I've seen plenty done.

Followed their instructions first then scrapped that cos it wouldn't fit. Then reverted to the faux method which was much better (thanks!) but it has has gathers and still doesn't fit perfectly. Gutted but if it is watertight then its staying on.

If you start from the back you can gather any spare material at the front where it can't be seen. Two neat pleats is normal.

Faux, was very glad to read this thread before I did mine today, I had already concluded there was no way it would fit nice and be neat top and bottom, a just kampers one came with my vam when I bought it in 2012, if I had followed instructions no way it would fit, I did it bottom up and even then had just enough fabric to staple at the top, it looks decent enough but nothing brlliant will take a photo tomorrow.

Can I just bump this and ask if the WW is still the best one to buy?
Alternatively, looking at C&C, one is £399 and one is £354, then Heritage at £325...

As far as I am aware they use the same supplier. I have seen the ones that NLA VW sell and they look good. I have never fitted one of theirs but they seem to have good customer service.

Not fussed about the colour but the side windows look centred whereas NLA/some others sell this one:

Which is closer to the original/better quality? It's like a minefield finding these things.
