im needing a new clutch,

im going to go to gsf

but dont know what size to go for, what with having a new engine in it.

so do i go for the one listed for my van?

i wasent sure if the clutch size was relevent to the gear box or the flywheel?

any help would be good

oh and i remember reading something about new and old style realese bairings, are they interchangable or do you have to go with the old style if thats whats fitted

Theres a kit available to fit the later bearing on an early box, I'll see if I can find the details for you...

so im of for the clutch kit tomorow and unless gsf are in a helpfull mood,i have no idea what to get.

ive got an early box with what im guessing will have an early realese bairing.

and the engine is a new brazilian engine

will the later clutch just go on????? with no probs? as the fly wheel needs the 200mm clutch but the box will be the earlyer 180mm

also does anybody know if the gsf kits come with a realese bairing?

il be asking all this tomorow but there not allways clued up in there

hope some one can help

chris

right, ive done a little more research and its looking like its just easyer to fitt the early kit,is there and disadvantage in having the 180 mm clutch, when the flywheel suits the 200mm

i ask this as when i fitted the engine last year the clutch looked in very good condition but has only lasted about 8000 miles

sorry for what looks like silly questions,i just dont want to have to do it twice

thanks chris

I'm also in the process of replacing my clutch, my clutch is a 200mm with pad type (early release bearing).
If the clutch your removing is 200 then i would refit a 200mm. Might be better off removing the clutch and taking it with you when you buy the new 1 then you can compare before you leave the shop, this is what i intend to do!

its not tho its the 180mm.fitted to a 200mm flywheel :?

withn it not lasting long i wasent sure if to go the same way again

spot on think i can sort it from there, engines not out so im having to go from memory.

thaks

chris
