I don't know whether this is a silly question or not but is there a simple way of telling what engine I have in my bus? Its a '70 Westy with twin carbs if thats any indication. Cheers.

Hi mate, there are no silly questions here, sometimes silly answers :lol: Your '70 would have had a 1600SP engine, may have been changed for a TP at some stage, post up some pics and ill tell ya.

Hi!

Just below the alloy alt/genny stand, where the firing order is marked, on the engine block itself is a number, for example, AB, AE etc. You can then go onto here and it will tell you what it is:

http://www.type2.com/bartnik/enginecodes.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

http://www.partsemporium.co.uk/EngineCodes.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

If it's a bug engine, it may have the wrong tinware over the back of the engine (like mine :roll: )

Hope this helps.

Alistair
