The South Coast Kustoms is as good as it gets, I'm not gonna argue that. Still think the T2D is ok.

I'd be happy to roll in the SCK though, just a shame it's so impractical, it's not even got camping interior

Would love to see it in the flesh

I liked Mat Keenes old 67, owned by the guy on here now (forget your name, sorry dood  ) thats my fav tbh 8) I would roll in any of the above, but that late bay is cool for sure. 8)

Do you have to remind me, I was gonna buy Matt's bus but Kabre beat me to it by a day :(
My wife thought £13k was a lot but I've already spent that on my Westy

Ive seen the scirocco driving around town a lot recently. It just looks weird. But then thats what makes vw scene so different.

Its a bit like comparing when i had it my old MG midget to an Austin Healy Sprite come on some things are just better Ealy/crosser bay then there is those late ones. Ill get me coat quick.

No worries on forgetting the name; many thanks for the complements on the bus! I certainly thought mine was the coolest thing I'd seen 'till I started browsing this forum, I can now see that there are *plenty* of other very cool rides out there!

I tend to agree with the fact that most cars that were changed in the 70's due to US legislation did not fair very well in the looks department: MGBs; Triumphs; E-Types; etc.. That said, bays got off more lightly than some and your average punter on the street would struggle to spot the difference between an early or late bay anyway!

I also think that because the early bays are tax exempt and there are less of them they fetch a high price, so people are more inclined to lavish more cash on them, which in turn makes them more desirable, and thus further inflates the price of early bays as a whole - a slightly self fulfilling prophecy but really just basic economics - just take a look at the splitty scene!

Karl

I don't hate late bays - but I prefer earlies, for me it's like the late MGB thing with the rubber bumpers. I'm not so keen on the late bay colours (lime greens, bright oranges etc) or the bumpers - but underneath they're all (pretty much) the same.

At the end of the day they're all bays - live and let live I say!

;)

Before i got my bay i wouldn't of been able to tell you the difference between a late and an early
But now having owned my bay for 18 months or so i think that if i ever decded to get rid of it (or swap it) then it would have to be for another early. Everyone to there own but, low indicators, wrap round front bumper, cresent vents (sorry crossover owners  ) and the small rear lights just look so right :D

I think the Early bay has the best of all worlds and would never change, but a cool bus is a cool bus, Split, Bay, T25, T4 and T5. Same cool badge.

Nicely put Faux;

Since everyones expressing their opionions...

The Early was done up right, I dont care if the guy in front of me can't see which way I'm turning...Low lights make for good nights... but I am of the opinion "Different spokes for different folks" I luv my dub and respect people who care for their dubs, it is a mutrual thing...and really, its not nessisarly the badge...it's the person whose in the driver seat...and let me just say, alot of cool people choose to drive this kinda rig!

;)

agree a cool bus is a cool bus, each one is taken on it's own merit.

I actually kinda agree with thru on the t2d van, if it wasn't slammed it would be a shed... worked for them though, how much publicity have they got off of it! fair shout.

I think earlys have the best of both • styling as cool as a split but with a similar practicality of a late bay... if that makes sense :?

Personally i think they are like the crossover into the more square plasticy garish cars of the 70's with bits that dont look as sturdy. Even the interiors werent as well finished, I guess materials got more expensive.

to be honest its snobbery, i guess im a snob :D
