I bought a 944 setup recently, but it seems the hubs aren't right for a bay stub! A little annoying to say the least  The bearings in the hubs i've got are quite alot bigger. So i was wondering which 944 hubs will fit onto the bay stubs?

Thanks in advance, Leon

I've got all the kit to fit an earlier 944 front setup, and not the later, which i think i've got! So i think i'm in the market for an early 944 hub! I'm also beginning to doubt whether or not the 14" wheels are going to fit, too small me thinks. Hope i'm wrong!

 sorry to hear that mate, cheer you up with some redwalls at the weekend?
Please ;)

You need early non turbo hubs to fit the early bay spindle. Also they won't fit in 14" you will need 15" rims. I know cos I had the same problem. I have some 944 hubs for sale. I'm going the csp route now

I may be interested in your 944 hubs, and have you seen our wide 5 kit? cheaper than CSP. http://www.futbus.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; or respond via there bout what you want for the hubs.

Thanks for the info, but possibly not the news i was after :( , especially as i was lead to believe they would fit.
How much do you want for them? any pics? what made you change your mind?

Cheers in advance, leon.

My change of mind was nothing to do with the porsche set up. More the fact I changed from a cross over bay that I was going to run with 14" fuchs ( until I realised they wouldnt fit  ) to an 68 wesy with 205PCD and wont to keep the 205 PCD as I now have chrome 356 rims.

No hadnt seen your kits. looks interesting, do they come with vented discs? whats the caliper off, ie for replacement pads and does it make the track wider?

I paid £60 for the spindles and £70 for the hubs, so want to try to get this back to put towards a new 205 PCD set up.

Posting here as previous thread (http://forum.earlybay.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=12839" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) is now locked...

If these are the same discs & calipers that I offered up to my NSU's (in November 2008) then they won't fit - not even using spacers (improvised with two 18mm adaptors and caliper still fouled on the rim).

Unless of course there are some parts you are missing or information that you've not been told? :?

TBH i think this is ll down to teh fact that people just dont know that much about fitting 944 disks, i was sold the wrong hubs the first time too, but the seller wasnt aware of this, all he knew was that they were 944 hubs, wich they were.

Well i've got me some early hubs from Uber cool, (many thanks for your time, and loan andy. Great to meet you.) and i'm in the process of setting it all up!
Recieved a good will guesture off matt to help with the completion of the setup, so should have everything to get me sorted. Thanks for all your help.
Pics to follow.

Nice one!!

My second born turned up 6 days ealy and stopped my brake conversion dead in its tracks!!

Many congratulations! You should, like you said, have a bit of holiday now to work on the baby!(but which baby? )

Did your discs arrive? Wondered if the nuts came with them, the ones that hold them to the hubs.

yes they did, but no nuts with them, but i do have teh spec of the nits you require, i'll check it for you and get back to you.

so wich one uf us will be rocking 944 brakes first ?? lol

Well we go to Scotland in the may half term, and the wife wants it done by then! no pressure! Or else i'm in the dog house. :(

Did you get brake lines as well? if so where'd you get them from. I'm hoping that'll be the last piece of the jigsaw.

Thanks for the nut/bolt size. I can get them from any nut and bolt shop then.

yeah got brake lines from here, http://www.goodridge.co.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

not cheap, but once they are done they are done!

I got camper ones, test fitted a Porshe line in the camper slave cilinder and it seemed to be the same.

Mine still havent arrived though, its been a week :(
