Just bought a 2nd hand Red9 setup for the front of my bus. Guy selling it wasn't sure if it was the more or less lowering version. As I'm after a 4" drop I felt I'm pretty safe with either as both are capable of this but just out of interest, can anyone tell me which setup I have?

Only numbers on coilovers read S401 602. Can post a pic if that helps.

Measure the distance between the shock mounting holes then ring red9 ;)

Good idea- need one of the lockring adjusting 'spanners' so need to get in touch with them anyway.
cheers

edit: am I likely to need installation instructions? They look pretty straightforward to fit. Anything to watch out for?

Hardest bit is usually getting the trailing arms off, other than that its all pretty obvious but dont forget you will need to cut your bump stops off as well ;)

Give the trailing arm studs a good clean with some emery paper until the damper bush slips on and off easily,
I didn't and when I forced the damper on without a spacer had to destroy the bush to get it back off.

Red9 were great and swiftly posted me a new one.

had this email from Simon last week

If you have G401 it will be the 2-4”

Anything else it will probably be 4-5.5

Cheers

Simon

I have just bought a set with G400 1EK written on them, so i presume they are 4 - 5.5 too low for me, so if you find out yours are the shorter type, and you fancy swapping, let me know

Mark

Thanks Mark, appreciate the offer. Will put them on next week and see how she sits.

cheers
