About 5 years ago hitting 40 I decided to have a mid life crisis and wanted an old classic. I was looking at Triumph Heralds, Mk1 Escorts etc. Then we went to St Ives for two weeks. My misses kept asking what all the old campers were driving around. I'd always loved em (anything 60's/70's) but knew they were fetching a lot of money. It did make me think it was a midlife crisis my whole family, misses and two kids, could enjoy. Fast forward 6 weeks and I spotted a bus on ebay about 25 miles from where I lived, at a £1500 Buy it Now. Couldn't believe the price and was trying to ring the misses for approval. Ended up hitting the button and became the owner of XFC 698K a RHD Danbury tintop. I then spent the next 2 years with this off the road working on it all hours to get it fully rebuilt, so much for family time. Then the fire hit and the bus got destroyed, couldn't go through all the pain and time away again, so with the money the insurance paid 3 years ago I bought a 71 US Deluxe through Gods good/Graham L on here.
Best thing I did, been to a fair few shows in it and last year did 1500 miles to Euro Disney, Normandy and back. Looking forward to Devon this year, Camperjam and Busfest.
