T minus 48 ish hours until the bus leaves with me, the wife, our 4 year old boy and two 20 something girls for 2 nights at Alton Towers, 2 nights at Camperjam (family enclosure at wifes request) then 2 nights at Drayton Manor.

The roof rack is back on, i've checked everything i think i need to check. Just need to make sure the camera's charged up!!!

Fingers crossed, if you see a bus slowly crawling north on then m4/m40 that'll be us!!!

Best of luck.

If it's any consolation the feelings mutual, not going to Camper Jam but off to cornwall on Sunday for a week. It's our first long drive in the van and tbh i'm praying we get down with no probs! Van had a good service last week but the engine seems to be a bit of a mix and match of bits and thanks to my lack of knowledge been missing tinware underneath so been running hot for quite a while!!

Fingers crossed!!

Seb

Yeah baby!!! One 220 mile trip without a hitch :)

One small thing though, I wondered why people keep flashing us and beeping so we waved back smiling until a van went past and said my boot lid was open, on the M4 lol.

Camp set up, drinking tea getting ready to go buy some beer!!! :)

We will be at Camperjam and then Thomasland on the Monday and hoping to camp at Drayton Sunday night. We'll look out for you

Hey dude. We're at Kingswater campsite. 4 miles from the manor, we'll be there at about 10 in the morning do watch out for a turquoise bay with a black and White chequered bra.

We saw you coming in Tezzah (a little later than you'd planned I think, as were we), and I think I saw you leaving around 6ish (pretty distinctive van)

I can recommend the Drayton Manor campsite iF anyone is interested in staying before or after a visit to the park. It's a little expensive at £15, especially if you have an awning (extra £5) or hookup (another £5) so we didn't bother with those but the facilities are immaculate

Shame we missed each other dude. We were a little late, lol.

We stayed at a camping and caravan club site, 4 miles away, £74 for 2 nights in a 5 star site, hook up, showers (really needed after camperjam lol) shop, play area for kids, flat lawned surface, shop etc. This was for 2 nights with 4 adults and one child so £37 a night or just over £7 per person.

I would recommend this place 100%, it was immaculate and campervan friendly.

They said as i checked in "that will be the coolest vehicle on this site for the next few days" :D

Then some doughnut said as we drove past "oooh look, it;s one of those retro looking campervans"

Wow that hurts. We've just joined the C&C Club nd heard great things about many of the sites. We'll definately give that one a go next visit.

It did hurt, i was going to get out and correct them, lol.

We're already looking at the next trip away now, got tickets for Brighton Breeze and may do Oktoberfest as well, we're truly hooked.
