Hi - A picture paints a thousand words...so when Monkeyspinner put the photos of his new van up I saw a picture of exactly what I need for my bus. Stole a bit of your picture Monkeyspinner - hope you don't mind.

I want the bracket and screw that holds the sapre wheel in like in this photo - can anyone help me?

I just imagine a sharp stop or a prang followed by a wheel hitting the back of my head......nice

I have one of the plastic covers with the VW logo on, nothing else holds it in. :D

i picked up a bracket at the junkyard today but did not find the screw part. if you cant find one over there then i will find out how much it would cost to ship to the UK. i was thinking of using a bolt with a big washer on the end of it. let me know if you are interested in finding out how much it would cost to ship.

Hey tubdub - thanks for your message. I guess I could use a big bolt...its just finding the right size that could be the problem - any suggests appreceited.

That would be great if you could check out the postage cost - cheers dude.

pm sent.. a bolt that holds the top of the motor in threads right into my 68 bracket but i just dont know what lenght you will need. i think the starter side is too short but maybe the other side top bolt is long enough. you might have to put in a couple of washers as spacers but it should work. if you cant find one locally i can figure out which one you need and send it too but i wont be able to do that until monday. let me know

EDIT**** the top bolt will work just fine. let me know if you need that too***

Hey Bob - got the bits today....as soon as I get my van back on Friday I will give it a go...its looks right though. Will let you know.

hi Bob - finally fitted the spare wheel bracket - works perfect. thanks for sending from the US - cheers MC
