Hi all,
Are yellow head lights legal in the Uk, custom & commercial have stated to sell them & I fancy them for my 70 Westy.
Thanks

No, they're not, unless the vehicle was originally fitted with them i.e. some French vehicles <1992
Only fog lamps can have yellow lenses.

Although I haven't been pulled yet.

If you want genuine lenses though, try here.

Not sure the above is true; in the UK the law permits white or yellow lenses only.

Wasn’t there a thing where yellow lenses negated the rhd/lhd headlamp lense thing?

As far as the MOT goes yellow light is acceptable so therefore must be legal .

Just as well really, because my lights are like two yellow candles when viewed from a distance or more than six feet

Ozziedog,,,,,,,,note: must sort lights

The colour of the light headlamps emit must be one of the following:

- white
- predominantly white with blue tinge
- yellow

Correct at time of writing, obviously subject to change

well it wont be back dated if they do. Its been like that since I started testing in 76 --------- its changed a bit!!!

A few years ago they made DIY smoked lights illegal in the UK. Not saying that's exactly the same, but it is a grey area.

Pun intended 😅
