SNV81010.jpg

Mine was R.T.T.S '95' 8)
When Newqquay was a surf village full of cool shops (Fat Willys!!!, Dream machine...got my Flying fish jumper from there!!), cream teas, clotted cream, surfers, veedubs.....and the famous water fights in the high street!!
Im trying to scan a few 'well' dodgy pics of me and my missus when we were......alot younger!! ;)

The first VW show i went to was stoner park 1987 in my mums 74 bay
I was 7 years old, and i bought my first 1950s toy die cast split screen bus which i still own today aged 32,

I have been hooked ever since

Mine was bug jam 2009. It was rather wet to start with, and the toilets were terrible. I hear nothing's changed

Bug jam 91 ..in a 66 bug that wouldn't idle ! . Stella for a quid out of a amberlance .... A tap to wash , and about 4 portaloos for everyone  one strobe light in the rave , 4 hours to get out ,no organisation ... It was ace

Volksworld 2011 :-

First ever outing in the bus - Broke down 5 times, everyone helped with pushstarts until eventually a couple of blokes in a T4 towed us in, We spent the show bumping into people who had pushed the van, Thanking them and shaking hands. The Engines since been sorted by Veedubs in Welling and all good since then !.

The wife will never forget it, but me and the kids love the van !

Tatton park (VWNW) round about '88 ? Loved it. Dad had a 77 Dormy - it's all his fault. Really interested to see how many variations of a theme there where. Been into the scene ever since .

My first was the British Volkswagen Festival in 2002 went with a friend who had an old polo at the time and came away with the bug, got a 66 bug soon after and owned an aircooled ever since

That sounds like nothings changed then.!!!!!

Been going classic car shows etc since I was a kid and always wanted a vw, but my first true vw only show was bugjam 2009! Really wet, and the queues were huge, but some really good dubs, which started me off on finally getting my bus :D

RTTS 1987 - Went down in a mates orange fastback, saxophones and guitars around a bonfire in the middle of the camp site, surfing on a Baja Bug at three in the morning, poppers (a cheap high that just gave you a headache), and it really was sunny! All the cars were sprayed in custom pastel shades of peach or green and yes there were water pistol fights in Newquay, however it was the ols pistols that only rook a thimble full of water andyou could pee further than! Them were the days

RTTS in 1990 8)

Great days, it took me years to stop going to RTTS as my memories of those early events stayed so strong, but it just changed too much.

Yep!! first time I ever heard a 'Dumpvalve'!!!
That was the last time I went, I remember getting sprayed in the highstreet by a "Gangstar" hanging out of the window of a bmw 325i.....didnt smell like water though!!!
Surfer Dudes and V-dubbers attracted the Bettys, and the Bettys attracted all the Chavs!!

Mine was RTTS also. I think it was 92. Didn't plan on going it just happened to coincide with a camping trip to Newquey.
I spent a wet hazy weekend looking at all the buses, working out which years where which styles and which I preferred.

Six weeks later I had sold my mini and bought a 70 Devon tin top in Beige for £1000 and was hooked. :D

Bug Jam 1990 was my first VW show with an ex-girlfriend who was also VW mad. I was driving a brown Mini 1275GT at the time and the show truly converted me!

The next year they'd both got the boot and I turned up with my best buddy in a 66 green roof-chop beetle - my new ride!
