Seen this van for sale on ebay,(sorry its a late bay) has anyone ever seen such a thing for the back of a crewcab?
Thought i had seen it all,not sure on the look but it would be handy for kipping in.

Take care a rivet doesnt stick through too much and touch the steering shaft.
I struggled with mine but ended up getting a replacement tube from fbi it was complete with the plastic base bush,was cheap too

Just bought an assistant, only got the base and lid tho,so wondered if anyone has any intermediate shelves,its well "rat look" so they dont need to be mint,just cheap!!
Anyone got anything stashed away?

Heads up theres a pic with your van from 1970 on page 41 of classic car buyer magazine/paper.
Apparently it still exists on dvla it has badges on the door,dormobile?
ybe a nice thing to have a copy of?

Ok its just a crewcab,but it gets used and abused as it should,gets a rest over the winter as its cold and rusty enough already!
Made the mistake getting an xr2 'minted' years ago and was scared to use it or leave it anywhere.
When the van gets a knock it blends in with the rest! :-)
If you get near your mileage limit tell your insurer,they will then add an additional fee.
If you go over and they find out on renewal they charge a lot more..as I found out.
Also worth checking the clips are still nice and tight occasionally.
Has a big fuel whiff coming home from work the other day,11pm..dark and raining..shall I ignore it?...
Pulled over,luckily had a light,opened up and found fuel was pouring from where the pipe goes on my left carb!! Clip had...
Its not just as simple as ordering oem vw classic parts i'm afraid.
After years of trying poor fitting repro/brazilian parts i now try to use only nos or genuine vw parts,after seeing articles on vw classic finding hoards of parts and selling them from Germany i was relieved..at last proper...
