    1968 Roadrunner

Also, if you changed to a shorter shock when you lowered the rear that will prevent the springplate from dropping all the down which makes getting the wheel off difficult. When my bus was slammed and I ran shorter shocks I would need to disconnect the shock on the bottom to get the tire on/off.

    1968 Roadrunner

I run 205/65/15's on the rear with 3.25" horseshoe plates with no problem. The key is the offset of the rim as I run bus split 15's. It's tough to find an aftermarket rim with the same offset as the stock split 15" rims.

    Red buses do indeed rule

Digging up an old thread to add my red 68 bus. It was painted to match the original Titian Red although I don't think they did a great job with the color match. Noneless, I still love it (and red buses in general).

    Rear shock help please

Same here... KYB GR2's on the rear with Wagenswest 3.25" horseshoe plates and no problems.

westy 70 anti roll bar on narrowed beam

Everyone I know who runs a narrowed beam does't use one. I guess if your beam was only slightly narrowed (2") then maybe you could adapt one but most go to at least a 4" narrowed beam.

Tyres / Stance Thread - Lets see what ya runnin!

In the states you can get a set of 4 in good shape for about $200. Then $25 a piece to have them sandblasted/primered, a few cans of Krylon Dover White and your looking at about $325 out the door. The toughest part is finding a set that isn't tweaked (out of round) and not pitted. It's not...

How's the offset on those compared to the split 15's?

Tyres / Stance Thread - Lets see what ya runnin!

I love split 15" rims on bays, I just got my set back from the sandblasters, hope to have them mounted soon. Your setup looks nice.

Tyres / Stance Thread - Lets see what ya runnin!

Sweet bus (love the color) but what is up with that rear bumper? That must drive the split guys crazy (which is maybe why you run it). LOL

    Bentley manual

If you get the older one (68-74) it has the color wiring diagrams vs the black And white versions in the new one.

Drag link scraping on slammed buses - what do you guys do?

Thought I would bump this in case anyone has some input. I ended up raising my front a bit to solve the issue but there must be other options, especially with some of the slammed UK buses I see. Glad to see the board back, hopefully they get it moved soon to solve the peformance issues.

Drag link scraping on slammed buses - what do you guys do?

I'm curious what others have done to prevent scraping your drag link and screwing up your steering box? My drag link is really the only thing that scrapes (and the tow hook) and was wondering if people have mods to address this? I know in the split bus world they do a steering box mod to raise...

Creative Engineering 68-69 Adjustable Springplates - Pics?

Come on guys... I know a bunch of people on here are using these. Let's see some pics of clearance between the axle/frame and any notching if you had to go that route. Thanks.

When you have your wife complaining every day because she and the kids cant all fit in the truck, you suddenly become very motivated. :-)

As you can see in my signature, I sold the SC and now have a 68 Transporter (walk thru). I loved the SC but needed more room for the wife and kids. Found a super clean bus here locally (originally shipped thru Boston) and am just taking care of a few remaining issues.

Creative Engineering 68-69 Adjustable Springplates - Pics?

For anyone that is using these, can you post pics of the clearance you have between the axle and frame. I'm currently using Wagenswest horse shoe plates in the rear but am looking to get more clearance between the frame/axle without notching my frame. Just curious if the CE springplates would...

It's definitely one of the cleanest SC's I've seen although it has a few rough spots (driver side floor and battery tray) but still very solid for a 42 year old truck. I'm working on repairing the floor now but there is no Gerson replacement for the battery tray so I'll need to find another...

Clean up the rust and drive it. It's really clean/stock and I plan on keeping it that way.
