    Gearboxes used for 1800 upwards

Hi Trikky, it's not been built for torque, more to cope with hills when loaded with the teenage daughter's copious amounts of clothes and make up lol My requirements were nothing to fancy, just a steady cruiser that doesn't need to crawl up hills

    Gearboxes used for 1800 upwards

I would take you up on that if I was nearer, cool offer thanks. And yes it is just before the 40mph I naturally want to change up too.

    Gearboxes used for 1800 upwards

Thanks for the info so far. At the moment the options seem to be a cn/cm code box, a freeway flyer? or Tofufi's idea :) CreationBlue, I get what you are saying but it still feels/sounds towards the higher end of the revs at 55mph. It pulls up the hills lovely with the 1776 extra boost and...

    Gearboxes used for 1800 upwards

I'm currently running a CA code box. I have a 1776 and when on the motorway feel like I need another gear tbh. It feels like high revs at 60mph so won't go any faster than 55. What boxes are you using and how do you find it across the range of driving, pro's and cons?

    Carrying a paddle board

    8) Liking the options. (I'm opting for an inflatable board for now as only a hobby paddler) Out of interest, how do the hard boards compare in use?

    Best insulation??

I think everyone has their own "whats best", a bit like the oil Q. But I wouldn't be using expanding foam incase welding in the future is needed.

    Camping heater

Another option is Deisel. I run an eber slung between the chassis rails and firing directly into the original front ducting. Works a treat :D

    Stuck speedo, can anyone help?

Thanks for the reply, only just remembered to reply. I ended up having to drive it through the hub with a large hammer and long screwdriver. There was eons old crud that had almost solidified stopping it from just pulling through!

    Advice Needed

Maybe it's worth getting a quote on how much to raise the garage door. I have an up n over door, it was also too low for my van to fit. It ended up costing me £84 to get the door raised. It can be done depending on where the top support plinth is

Wide 5 rear drum to fit a later narrow 5 rear hub

if it's for function, why not uprate to small 5's on the front with added stopping power of the discs? If it's form over function, then what they said up there :msn4:

    Stock carb question

I'm running a stock solex until I can get the cash together for a better suited carb/carb. I've upped the fuel so the carb runs richer than for a 1600. The reason being that it will cause pinking running an engine too lean n obvs(you'll hear it pop a little on deceleration if running lean), to...

    Broken key!

Don't use halrauds. Just go to any old school keycutter/cobbler and they can do it for you easily from the snapped one

Belly pans - yes, no, would you?

I personally think they can be a trap for grot in the uk clime. But I see your thinking on body stability. I think if I had a poptop I would fit them for the extra strength, but with removable fixings and a seal. I do have the under cab one fitted, but that's more to provide extra insulation...
