    Thinking of getting a motorbike

Araon, you're never too old to sling your leg over mate. My old friend here (ex works Triumph rider back in the day) is crippled with horrific Arthritis. Last year he checked out of hospital early after his latest hip and knee replacement because he was missing his daily ride  Poor old...

    1776 Engine

^WHS^ A standard flywheel will help with torque (just what's needed in a heavy bus). A lightened flywheel has less inertia and so you get less torque. I'll give you an example. In the early 90's we converted many 250cc two-stoke Motocross bikes to Enduro spec. MX requires the motor to rev and...

    Bolts needed.

Andy, As I'm sure you are already aware you need to use high tensile bolts. Got them here:http://www.machine7.com/section.php?xSec=365 or: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=380114262441 Cheers Andi

popping exhaust, is it an air leak on the carb?

like Noddy says, if it's popping and banging on the over run it's usually an air leak on the exhaust side of things. If you suspect you have a leak around the carb or inlet area, run it up and give those areas a good squirt of WD40 or something similar. This might help identify the leak area...

    Help - ply headliner template?

I recently re-made my headliner and kept the original crusty, delaminated ply. You're welcome to them for use as templates. Bit of a treck for you though as I'm in Leicester. Failing that, if you can give me a bit of time I could make a decent quality heavy weight paper template and post it to...

    Am I missing something?

I tuck my Westy roof canvas away when the roof is down. Then out on the road as soon as the bus gets up to speed the damn thing fills with air and billows out, inside the bus. Stop and it deflates and flops down right in front my lads field of vision. So am I missing something to keep it...

    Pull Yourself Together!

Been after some curtains for the bus for a while now. Just spoke to the guy selling at the beginning of the thread. I've made him an offer and he's going to Mullet over.

    Hot rod camper link

Uber Cool...your mate is seriously talented. I have watched his thread on VZi from day one. I find just about everything he does utterly gobsmacking. It's so refreshing to see someone ploughing their own furrow, doing there own thing and, I hate to use the term, "thinking outside the box". Plus...

    Filler Stopper????????? help please :)

Don't apply directly from the tin. Mix with the hardener. It will never dry/harden without it.

    Drilled finger

What were you thinking man? Trying to drill your finger  and before you went to A&E you found time to put finger to keyboard-ouch to let us know of your predicament !! When drilling fingers I always recommend using a slow speed and some lubrication. Never snapped a bit in one of...

Replacing valve guides, how difficult is it?

Noddy, It can be done at home but not really recommended. I have done it in the past on bike heads. Head in the oven and the guides overnight in the freezer. You will need a valve guide tool (I think CB Performance do them) so that you don't mushroom the guide whilst whacking it with your 10...

My Ed Roth inspired Radio Flyer.

Love it Ant! Lovely bit of engineering. When it gets a bit too slow for you, you could always add a bigger motor! This one has a Suzuki GSX-R mill  . Not sure if it's a 750 or an 1100. Either way it's gotta be a mental ride and those wheelie bars must be essential. One whif of gas and...
