Did you have to bend your indicator arm back so that it didnt touch the steering wheel rim after fitting your wood rim wheel?

What boss kit did you use to fit it?
Have tried fitting my wheel on the 72 today and it all fits on ok spline wise etc except the indicator stalk wont fit back on, even if I push the collar as low as it can go on the column the stalk still fouls the rim.
Are crossers special in this department as well?

im really interested in this thread as I would like to replace our untidy OE steering wheel with a nice wooden one that is also marginally smaller diameter as the OE sometimes rubs against my YMFB midriff

What make is the wheel? Is it flat or dished?

I've fitted a moto lita and it's dished and the indicator arm doesn't foul.

This is a Astrali wheel on a mountney boss, its only 13.75 inch diameter & the gap between the wheel & indicator stalk is 1.25 inch.
I put a staight edge across & if it was a 17in it would be very close & may posibly touch
I wouldn't advise bending it because as you know crosser indicator stalks are not easy to find if it breaks

£95 for a NOS one at the freeze.

Wheel is a 17" flat one made by????

If I can dismantle the indicator switch then I can see a pin that holds the stalk into the innards that can be driven out & then I can bend to whatever angle I need it at - my concern is opening the switch up might result in 3 hours on my hands & knees looking for little springs..... & then a trip back to see the man with the NOS one :(

Gonna give it a go I think, cos I do like the look of the wheel.

I believe it was Stirlingmoz?? that had a nos one on here..... not sure he ever sold it....

otherwise if you dont need a black stalk then swap it for a chrome early one....

Are the chrome early ones straight then?
