This engine came with my bug so dont know loads about it.It was fairly new built when i got it so hasnt done many miles. All the bits came from Scat so ill list whats in the build..doesnt mean alot to me so cant explain much

69mmx vw rod x volksracer 4340 Crankshaft=8 dowel pin

SCAT 4340 vw i-beam rod set 5.500 rod length/22mm wrist pin2.164 pin diameter/.895 big end width torque 3/8" bolts to 42lbs

MAHLE forged 94mmx82mm piston/cylinder kit

C35 cam .419"lift (1.1)285 duration type 1 with 3 bolt gear

new univ case -94.0mm bore

PRO STREET 40x35x94.0mm bore type 1 Dual port cylinder heads+42

Schadeck 26mm oil pump from JohnMaherRacing

Scat bottom pulley...Bugpack Breather.

Case tapped for full flow with all the hoses, oil filter etc...

the engine was leaking a little oil from the sump plate as this is a cheap chrome thing plus the flywheel oil seal had been pinched so will need renewing......

I can sell this with all the tinwear..fan house, alt and may have a dizy kicking about (009)..

The case was for a bus as it has the 3 bolt holes to fit the rear bar but someone has cut off one of the castings due to the full flow hoses.looks abit gash but could be cut cleany or left as is as its covered by the tins..

As for price...I was going to keep it..sort out some carbs and run it in my bug.But as with all resto's its eaten all my cash so need to sell to fund the build! so open to offers on it as i really dont know what its worth(i have all the receipts for the bit though!)

I will try to help with anything i can but like i said...its new to me .
I dont know who built it and what the compression setting are.I can get pics of what ever you need to see but probably will not be untill the weekend.I drove the bug home and it shifted!! even with a webber progressive carb set up!

thanks for looking

You have pm. :)

Been speaking to a mate of mine who builds engines .With the parts that have gone into this engine..id be wanting a Grand for it...try building one for that price! :D

Can that lug be repaired for the engine bar? The engine won't be very secure and will strip the threads on the other two in no time if you fit it to an early bay.Or is there another way around it,because I wouldn't be happy bolting it up with only the two left .I suppose it's ideal to go in a bug etc though.

i suppose you could get it repaired but i would have thought the cheaper option would be to bolt it in with the 2 bolts then fit a strutbrace bar. This will stop the back force on the lump hence not stripping the 2 bolt. :)

Yeah I think you are right, you can support it no problem, would be ok in a bay. That is a very nice looking engine,I would love it if I had a grand handy for it.
