Hi all, I have a crewcab which currently has no seatbelts in the back and a lap belt for the front middle seat.

I have 4 kids so am currently looking at different options as want 3 x 3 point in the rear and then change the front middle lap belt to a 3 point too. Been quoted around £500 by local VW specialist to fabricate the fixings etc to modify what I currently have. Anybody got any thoughts or have you done anything like it?

Thanks, Johnny

might be worth looking at the seat belts they fit to the middle seats in people carriers, quite a few of them (renault scenic etc) have a roof mounted inertia reel system that might work in both the back (and possibly the front).

For the front seat you ideally want to mount the reel at the bottom behind the seat and then have an extended arm coming up higher than the bulkhead to take the top loop so it goes high enough over the shoulder,

Hope that makes some sense??

Yes it makes sense Graham. Had a chat with Johnson Autoworks, where it is having the work done, about it and they think the only way of getting a 3 point in is to build in something that as you say will sit higher than the bulkhead and the same in the rear. The kids safety is my main concern obviously but I think that this option will look pretty naff so still trying to find alternatives.

This could be an option http://ezon.impactfulmedia.com/e-z-on-86y-universal-harness/

Also found these http://www.exmoortrim.co.uk/store/defender-products/seat-belts/3-point-centre-seat-belt-detail.html it says not suitable for 2nd row seats but speaking to them it is referring to the mounting points for a land rover. As we are having the mounting points fitted I thought it should be fine.
