54f wire on hazard switch

Can anyone tell me please, once I've converted my brake lights to UK spec(disconnecting terminal 54), does doing this make 54f wire redundant? Assuming it does then I can theoretically use a beetle hazard switch?

It would appear not. Just disconnected it on my bus and the rear hazards stop working.
So, is there a way of using a beetle hazard switch with a US indicator stalk?
