Originally a microbus for the fire service in California
Imported by Kieft’n’Klok in2005 and sold onto one of their mates who handpainted it matt brown and installed a basic camping interior.I bought it from him via Kieft’n’Klok in 2006.
Interior:
Now has a ¾ rock’n’roll bed and a basic set of homemade mdf storage units down one side in the back painted in white undercoat ready for your own colour!
Front has Porsche tombstones that are a little mouse nibbled but otherwise in good nick.
Scat shifter
Rev counter/oil temp/oil pressure/head temp gauges
Exterior:
Painted matt brown and looks superb – very unique
Rock solid underneath - spent first 37 years in California and I had it undersealed as soon as it landed
Few bumps here and there – one in the nose low down, one on the roof on offside at the front and a scrape down the bottom of the sliding door.Bit of rust appearing in the offside rear arch
Very original and never welded that I know of – absolutely rock solid
Suspension:
Lowered at the front with unknown spindles and custom vw speedshop AVO coilovers – will go lower
Rear has creative engineering adjustable spring plates
BRM wheels
Running gear:
This is where it comes into its own!
2litre Type4 engine fully rebuilt by Stateside tuning at a cost of £4280 in 2006
Genuine Jack Raby upright fan and tinware kit
Fully rebuilt gearbox by Bears motorsport with uprated final drive
Brand new Weber carbs – custom jetted from 36’s
Deep sump
External oil cooler
Facet electric fuel pump
Stainless quiet pack and header
All fully installed by Lee at Fairbank and Craven and I have receipts for all of it – approx £8k’s worth!
Will cruise all day at 65 and pulls like a dream
There is probably loads I've forgot and will edit as I remember and get better pics.
Really, really don’t want to sell but massive lifestyle change means I have to generate some serious cash for house move. Not in mad rush to sell so no silly offers.
All of the hardwork has been done I have owned some nice motors over the years but this is the only one that will genuinely make a grown man cry when it drives away.
Will get better pics up when I get chance
£9995 and I'm in Stockport just south of Manchester.
Can somebody explain to a computer moron how to post pics on my ad so I don't upset anybody?
