Looks really nice fella... i'm not encouraged by you comments about replacing the jalousie seals.. I am planning to do mine soon as they are shot.. feeling somewhat nervous now!
(got any key tips before I start?)
Lots and lots of patience needed, and do one window at a time.
Also buy the best seals you can, it pays in the end as they will fit properly.
Take out the mozzie net frames if they are fitted, just push them upwards and lift them out.
Next job remove all the millions of self tapers that hold the window frame in the body.
I first stripped the outer framework then took out the window panes, (there are different self tapers for the outer framework and the window pane frames).
I marked everything I took apart with masking tape, so I could put back all the bits as they came apart.. :?
The main seals are not to bad to change, the problem being that the manufacturer decided to crimp the end of the extrusions...
I had to drill out (both ends) and then file the track to enable the new seals to slide into place.
Note crimp
The seals for the glass channels are very fiddly to fit.
I took only one section of the glass frame off as it's easier to replace the glass and seals back in.
I used washing up liquid on the rubber then placed the seal around the glass (put a small nick on each corner of the seal as it sits on the glass more evenly).
Then slide it into the channel in the frame, gently taping it home with a rubber mallet.
Then refit the section of glass frame you took off, and screw back in place.
Do this with each glass frame then reassemble window as you took it apart.
You may then need to reseal the window frame corners as per factory, you can buy grey sealer which is ideal.
Finished at last.
Tools I used;
Stanley Knife
Various screwdrivers
Rubber mallet
Pliers
Needle file
Drill and tiny drill bits
Sounds easy.. but it's a b.....d.
I hope this helps and it makes sense.
Sorry if I have forgotten any vital bits of information.
