Hi All,
Havent posted in a while, just wanted to share this 68 SO67 Westfalia RHD (previously LHD) camper that I picked up here in OZ.
M Plate decoded as:
279 - Built on the September 27, 1968
518 - Opening in Roof for Westy Poptop
21 - Type 1 engine / 4 speed manual gearbox
426=
- 020 - Speedo & Odo in Miles
- 089 - Laminated Windscreen
- 511 - Padded Dashboard
- 524 - USA & Canada Spec - Sealed beam headlamps, dual circuit brake control, back-up light and side marker reflectors, buzzer for ignition-starter switch.
D67 - SO67 Westfalia Campmobile interior with additional tent
507 - Vent windows in Cab Doors
517 - Campmobile : Opening in roof with reinforcement for westfalia pop-up roof
UK - USA, East Reserve (The reserve destination codes represent all the buses that were not ordered by a particular client. Mostly these buses were used for presentations in VW dealer showrooms)
2310 - Kombi LHD sliding door on right
523907 - L87 - Pearl White (Special Campmobile Colour)
The history on this van was that the owner bought it off the showroom floor, drove all around the U.S ending up in California and then emigrated to South Australia in the early 80's and brought the van with him. He had the van converted to RHD here in Australia shortly after arriving.
