71 deluxe microbus/camper function over form

Hi all ,been a member for a while but thought I would put some pics and info on my latest bus,I have had a few v-dubs over the years (52) but have decided to keep one finally !!!
I bought the bus from a guy who was doing it for a friend ,but he decided to start a paint shop so couldn't work for free ,I got it for very good price ,it drove into my garage but now .....

It was horrible ,hand painted with god knows what !

Back corner had been cut off ,second hand panel with it

It also had a piece of Perspex as a sunroof ! Posh as you like !

Nice red interior though ,it is originally L90 D and that's the colour it will stay.

Now I am a firm believer in function over form ,no fancy paint no extras But everything has to work and work well ,I am a fitter/fabricator by trade so metal bits don't bother me as I work on these mostly

Under the red oxide it's not too bad ,will need all sills both sides all jacking points/outriggers

Some work has been done ,sunroof replacement

Now the best bit will be lowering ,I have some horseshoe plates ,adjusters and will be buying some low profiles so my plan is reasonably low

Got a bit carried away and have cut off the roof off because the bus is a microbus and they didn't have pop tops

I have bought another roof so hopefully it will end well :lol:

I couldn't get my head around a poptop on a microbus ,just didn't work ,so it had to go :lol:
