Due to another little arrival coming at the end of the year meaning that we won’t be getting out and about much next year I have decided to sell my Camper Van rather than having it sit on the street not getting used.

The Bus in question is a RHD 1972 crossover Dormobile with a 1600cc engine. Obviously the bus is tax free and I have just put it through it’s MOT yesterday so it has a full year on it (well actually more than a year at the moment) ….. the only thing that it needed for the MOT was a new bulb ! The interior is the original dormobile so has a ¾ bed, sink and cooler, although it is missing the cooker as the front seats have been replaced at some point with Recaro’s.

The bus is fitted with centrelines, has a cd player fitted and the roofrack will also be included .

Obviously at this price the van could do with a little TLC, namely around the drivers side arches, the front panel and there is also a crack on one side where I’m guessing some previous work has been done, hopefully you can see all of this in the pictures. The underside of the bus seems solid enough although I don’t really know what I’m looking at so if you require any specific pictures just give me a shout.

I’ve only owned the bus for a year but have made numerous trips down to Santa Pod and York Raceway and to be honest have loved it, much better than a tent ! Over this year I have replaced all four tyres, added a rear 3 point seat belt, replaced the gear bushes and added a trigger shifter so it’s no longer like stirring porridge as well as replacing the starter motor.

The Bus is in Whitley Bay near Newcastle Upon Tyne and I am looking for £4700.

More than likely as I'm out and about in it most weekends.

Hi

Can you please send me some more images of the interior?

I would like some detailed images of the raised roof, is there a bunk in there?

also of the bed and how it works, it doesnt seem a normal r&r bed???

sorry for the ignorance, i am just learning about the specific camper interiors.

I have cash waiting and am very keen on an early bay camper ready to go.

thank you

Hi Ash, I've sent you a link to a load more images and also replied to your email. Unfortunately the bunks are missing from the roof although I have added a cab bunk which my daughter sleeps in without any problem.

With regards to the bed, basically the back seat is hinged and connected to a rod against the back of the upper so the whole unit lifts up and then slides along to rest on the coolbox. The table then slides back to fully support it's weight. This is a dormobile conversion if that's any help.

Hiya we were wondering if your camper was still for sale please as we have looked at pics and would like to come to view/buy it. We have also sent you a message through pistonheads. We are REALLY interested in this as it's just what we're looking for ..... and we've looked at a lot! Please do get in touch to let us know either way, many thanks, Anne. 07957 200450.

Hi Anne, I have replied to all the messages I have received although to be honest I can't find any names / emails that tie up with yourself so apologies.

Yes the van is still available and there is no problem arranging a viewing. I will give you a call to arrange. Thanks Steve

Now on eBay (item number 140435015575) .....

Hiya Steve, Thanks very much for the extra photos, could I have your phone number please to discuss further?... Either my husband or I would be flying up to Newcastle, so would like to talk about many things before we book a flight! It may sound mad, but we have been looking for some time now and we are sure that if everything you say is correct, that this is the Bus for us, hence prepared to fly up tomorrow (Tuesday). However, we see you have now put it on ebay too, so are hoping you are prepared to honour your sale through pistonheads at £4700 and take it off ebay for us. We can pay you the deposit today, and have cash ready upon collection. Please do get in touch as we need to arrange our flights etc. 07590 039059. Many thanks, Anne.
