86.5mm bore size seems odd???

hi have just bought 1600 tp engine on a ad code and the bores are 86.5mm is this standard size of other vw aircooled engine? this makes cc 1621 standard 1584 is 85.5 and 1641 is 87 can any shed any lite on where or what there from

Rebored with oversized pistons?, back in the old days the where a lot of oversize pistons available.
