Hope these all help, can i adjust them ?? also whats stopping my back wheels coming off when ive jacked them up ?? also was thinking of 185/50/15 for the front to stop them catching the arch ??...Rowan.

Definitely Red9 EZ Rider kit!!

the bump stops have been cut off and you have coil over shocks! nice set up 8)

I would get on to red9 and buy a set of their lowered bump stops (skinner ones) and get them welded in place for a bit of safety.

height is set by adjusting the large nut below the spring (this may require a special tool but you can buy it at any motor factors), and damping is set from the hex nut at the bottom of the shock, near the lower shock mount. Red9 used to have instructions online but they have lost these in their new website :( .

I hope to be geting this set up soon :D

Many thx J,so the set up i have is a good 1 ?? so its a simple case of adjusting the bolt on the shocks to make my van higher or lower ?? i am getting the rear raised a spline and i am going for 185/50/15 on the front. At the mo the van pulls badly to the left but cant seem to get any 1 to do the tracking as it sits to low at the back and the first reason for this post is that the passenger tyre sticks out slightly thus causing the tyre to catch the arch...many thx so far...Rowan and why didnt i post this in technical lol...

Looks like you would need good shock towers with this set up as the whole weight of the front is bouncing on the shock towers and mounting bolts! I would get those bump stops sorted for safety like Johnny said dude.

The rear wheel can be removed if you remove the lower shock mount bolt first to give the clearance to swing the wheel out.

As for the adjustment.like Johnny said. The big nut under the spring base can be wound up or down, this will change the ride height. To adjust the rebound I cannot see by the picture, but it's probably like Johnny says an adjustable nut on the shock. If you still can't get any damping effect,it means the shock has worn out (lost all of it's oil/gas or the valves/seals have blown) and the whole shock will need replacing.

Yes its a good setup, very adjustable in both ride height and damping. Some people have concerns about the safety aspect of it, with the weight of the bus on 4 bolts and shock towers. With the lowered bump stops welded in place it should be safe enough as the bolts and towers were design to withstand many times the stress this setup puts on them.

Red9 have been operating for several years and i havent heard or seen any critical failures yet, theres lots of hot air and scaremongering about this setup but i dont believe it until i see it. Anyway, I know a minister (yes! a EB driving man-of-the-cloth 8) ) who has this installed in his bus for a few years now with the lowered bump stops and the ride is top notch, but i guess he also has God on his side  . I hope to be going narrow and also adding this kit to my setup, thats how good i think it is.

You can call Red9design on 01709540898, i think its a father and son business and they have many years experience in engineering and stress testing. They were very helpful when i called them, they shoulld be able to explain what you need to do to set it up perfect.

Just reading the instructions with my coilovers - fully clockwise is the softest setting.

So looking at mine can i lower the van more, and to firm the ride i can adjust the nut at the bottom of the shock ?? getting there lol also have 185 tyres at the mo on the front whats the thinest i can go 170/175 ??

I've got 165/65 for mine, they have a load rating of 81 so should be ok....

Looking at the photos it could be a lowered axle with coilover shocks on,to be 100% sure it was a Red 9 kit the arms would need to come off to check internals. It could a case of its still got its torsion bars in place and has too much springing for the shock absorbers.

Steve

Thats why you need to remove the front shock bolts whilst supporting the axle with a trolley jack to see if the leaves are still there or not first, see if it's still bouncy or not.You never know what someones done before :?:

seems like over-kill to fit coilovers and turn the beam when one would be sufficient?? can you check the towers and see if there has been any work on the bars?

the coil-overs are the exact ones red9 use in their kit, but could just be coincidence. Like steve says, the only way to be sure would be remove the trailing arm off the beam. If there's a round bar in the middle where the torsion leaves should be its red9.
