Air cooler leaking oil and white smoke?

My aircooler (the big black tub looking thing) looks like it's dripping a little bit of oil from the tube that points out of the engine bay (inside the engine bay).
Do they normally do this?

My engine seems to be running very hot, has a bit of a 'hot' smell when I've driven it so was wondering if this could be related?
Thanks! :D

Do you mean the tube that connects to the oil filler neck or the tube on your Airfilter that is installed on a pedestal on the right side of your bus?

If it is the first tube that leaves the enginebay vertically than it is normal, if it is the inlet pipe on your airfilter than it is not normal. It is an air inlet pipe that filters the air through an oilbath before going into the engine, not an oil outlet pipe :) Check if the oil level isn't too high in the oil bath filter.

Thanks for the reply. It's this black tube/pipe in the picture, the one closest to the camera coming from the black tub. Also I drove for about an hour today and when I parked up the engine was again very warm so I had a look inside and small puffs of white smoke came out of that tube. Dipstick was far too hot to touch, couldn't even get it out.

I seem to have a cooling issue.

That's not the aircooler, that's the airfilter as I already thought.
Puffs of smoke coming out are never any good, bit strange. Why not take it out and see what's inside. It's very easy. Remove the tubes that attach to the filter and undo the clamps where the filter clamps to the pedestal. Then undo the clamps that hold the two halves together and see what's inside. You might find a surprise there.
There should be oil in there that filters the air that goes through and into the engine.
Also I would recommend replacing that broken air tube going from the filter to the carb. You're possibly sucking in dirty air.

It's not normal for the engine to get warm/hot but the question is how hot is it really. To find out you should mount an oiltemp gauge. That's the only way to tell if the engine is running too hot or if it is okay. Did you check the oil level recently and was there sufficient oil in the engine?
