put a second hand box in :) i left the old one on the drive way. in front of my girlfriends car and up against the garage door. then i went for a test drive when i got home ( 5 to 10 mins) later and IT WAS GONE

bloody pikie ******* scum
i wanted to keep and recon the box.next time i see a van of scrap im goin to take anything i want off it.man im mad

If you think it's been taken by your local scrap metal dealer you should try to track it down - these things aren't scrapped immediately - worth asking your neighbours...

;)

same round by me mate, good when you have a knackered old fridge that you cant be arsed to take to the tip...bad when you have dub parts outside :?

Happened here the other day.

Our friends next door left their removable bulkhead out of a new shaped caddy against the garage door came back and the tat man had had it away. The van is leased and our neighbours if he can't replace it will have to pay £500. We live on a pretty quiet estate, a few years ago you would see a tat man driving round once in a blue moon, nowadays there are 3 to 4 different vans driving down our culdesac every week.

****** thieving **** stains! we had some old ****** panels up my drive and out of view, but the tea leafs must have come up the drive for a nose whilst i was at work! they will get they cumupance dood, as has been said by the crew Karma will prevail! ;)

Round my way we have a problem with road signs being stolen
One nearby village lost em all in one night and now they are looking into fitting plastic ones.

Cant trust anyone ( in an old transit pickup :msn4: )

This doesn't help you mate, and I agree with others, they are ******s.... but I couldn't help but share this story......

A while back we bought a new fridge freezer and washing machine. Our old fridge was shot, so I got rid of it, but the washing machine was still in working order.

I thought someone else would like the benefit so I placed it outside my house, with a sign, 'Good Working Order' 'Free to Collect'. 4 days later it still sat there..... :?

After a conversation with a mate, I changed the sign....... 'For Sale - £75'

....20 minutes later it was gone!

Some news team did an experiment in Bristol on how quick a bike would get stolen. They left it in a square in St Pauls and in the time of placing the bike there and turning their back to walk to their van to wait it had been nicked! something like within 10 seconds!

i avoid anyone in a Hi-ace or a thick Cork accent, they are the pikey van of choice over here.

Being in the West country im in the heart of pikey country what with Glastonbury and Stone henge on my doorstep, however the genuine shire horse and gypsy cart types i dont find too much of a problem its the Transits towing caravans you gotta watch, you know the knock on the door and the "ive just replaiced the facias on the house down the road and have some spare so i can do you a good discount" types. Chain up your scrap metal or wire it to the mains i say. :p

You have to watch yourselves these days, any metal left around will dissapear these days. You would have thought that 5 minutes on your own property in daylight would be ok.What a bunch of bas***ds.

And then you'll see these transit pick ups driving around with all manner of scrap ready to fall off.A couple of years ago I was behind one when a ladder fell off the back and would of gone through the windscreen if I didn't swerve to the side of the road.Luckily I was on a roadtest in a sporty car with good brakes, tyres and handling.
I'm always seeing bits of scrap lying in the road.

and whats wrong with cork?

Y`all must be doing something wrong. In my experience here in cornishland which is also full of them there traveller types the fabled transit man will NOT remove ANYTHING without permission. In fact they`ll even offer to pay for the bulkier items. I actually save off cut metal, dead batteries etc even beetle shells and let them have it. It stops em nicking the tools! At the end of the day times are hard but proper travellers will not steal. They`ll rob you blind on a fair deal if you`re stupid enough to fall for it but steal no way...makita power tools seems to be a winner...like fake watches

without these sort of people how will we ever get a tarmac'd drive
My Dad, bless him, being old school and actually believing what people say, got some nice hard working Irish lads to tarmac his drive. Perhaps a good thing I was working away at the time (would be locked up now..) because the thieving ****** scumbag bastards conned my trusting OAP Dad out of £700 for a job not worth a tenner. When he complained and didn't want to pay, the 'heavy mob' turned up threatening to trash the house, car, my Mum (!!!!!) and anything else they could get their thieving hands on. Napalm, too good for the scum.
I have to say this does NOT reflect my general feelings towards the Irish, I love the people and the country, as with all nationalities, some are not so nice. Was working with my mate Dave today, originally from Dublin area. It is not possible to meet a nicer person than he.
And don't get me going on stolen tools, last year the bastards had about 3 grands worth from me and my mates (in one hit) from a locked container on a 'safe' site in daylight (6ft fence, razor wire, cctv). Cost me just over £600 to replace mine. Locals and Plod reconed it was 'travellers', blatantly been at it for weeks apparently, bragging in the pubs, taunting the Police etc..

never can work out round my way if its the travellers who do the fly tipping, or whether the locals just use it as an excuse to lob their own stuff on the streets and blame the travellers.

one bonus from the scroats is that someone legged it from one of my flats leaving all their gear (or were they just on holiday) i filled the largest skip i could hire (£160  ) only to find that the flat was still full of crap. gutted at the thought i would require another skip i retired for the night. the next day i came back to the flat to discover that the local pikies had half emptied the skip which enabled me to finish clearing the place. bonus :D

when i bought the place there were old ovens and washers in every flat. simply dragged them out into the street and they were gone within the hour. there are some advantages :D

ha i watched snatch again last night...don`t know whether it was james king banging on about the best brad pitt films or this thread...nevertheless it was brilliant...again
