Afternoon folks,

I'm trying to solve the conundrum of how best to reach my roof rack to load and strap it on a stock height bus.....I'm not too keen on the idea of folding steps or hop-up platforms but though an up-turned beer crate with a bit of ply across the bottom (top!) to spread the load might do the trick :mrgreen: Any of you dudes use crates for this or have at least jumped on one to test for strength?

Cheers,

Olly

PS I know what you slammers will say aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnnnnddddddddddd.............NO! :lol:

I climbed on the roof (have a tin top) when we were away - not ideal but all I could think of - in fact I left a load of stuff on there all week to save some hassle!

I keep a folding step behind the buddy seat or under the bed, just enough to get everything off with ease 8)

I find if I remove the rear hub cap, easy enough! then can stand on the rear hub as they stick out nicely

Maybe you should get a microwave - that would make a great step :lol: :lol: http://forum.earlybay.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=42808" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Your all for a mircowave aren't you :lol:

Cheers for ya suggestions fellas- Mrs Ozbus isn't too keen on the beer crate idea anyway and seeing as it'll be our first trip away with an 8-week Micro Ozbus I have little use for a crate of beers 8)

As for a microwave- Mrs Ozbus prefers to have a frying pan at hand in case that crate of beers does make it on board!

stand on the rear bumper mate, where the irons are mate , well thats if ya got ratty bumpers . drink the beer from the crate first and itll work out fine IMO :shock:

But you don't have a problem with a Westy do you? You open the rear flap in the canvas and load up through there - that's what the flap's for donchaknow. :)

Arrggghhh tis true what you say!

But when your packing or unpacking for a weekend away you don't always have the pop top up....this has been used by me alot :D :D :D
