Should be with me in 6 or so weeks.

That's the plan, maybe sort coaster brakes if necessary but nothing else. Be nice to get the proper tank for the Monark but we'll see how that goes.

What's the story behind these bikes, they certainly look like they've a tale to tell ? ,

8) filth!

Lovely old raleigh on ebay at the moment. $27,000 though, .

The blue one is a Monark Silver King and the red is a Firestone Warrior, but also made by Monark. Not sure on the ages, I'm estimating the Firestone to be late 60s and the Monark to be 50s. They are both missing a few bits but have so much character I couldn't resist.

The blue bike is a keeper, but I may sell the Firestone on - except for the fact it goes well with my original Firestone jacket!

Those are neat looking bikes. I too am into old bikes. Mostly Schwinn. Here are a few that I recently picked up.

congrats on the new (old) bikes. Looking forward to seeing more pics once you get them. :D

Thanks! Am loving the green one of yours! Am trying to date mine at the moment... turns out they are a lot earlier than I thought they were.

Ok John, IF I decide to sell. The Firestone is looking to be pre-WW2

Heres one I bought a couple years ago that runs a 'skip tooth' chain, managed to get a new one from the states so this will be out this year as well.

So according to my sources, the Blue Monark is a 1953 model as they only made the springers for 2 years, and the Red Firestone is estimated to be 1938-1941.
