brake lights not working

my brake lights have stopped working, striped all the rear light down cleaned then, light sanding of all the connection and a tad of copper grease and put it back together, shouted the wife out to stand on the brake pedal, nothing. jacked it up took the connection off the master cylinder and cleaned them up. Nothing. I checked and there is no power at the rear. (granted i didn't check power at the master cylinder) all the fuses are in tack. So i'm thinking its the pressure switch (or what ever its called) in the master cylinder. Can i change this without having to bleed the brakes ?

bridge the switch wires together if the brake lights work its the switch

if it is, can i just swap the switch without having to bleed gthe brakes after. Its been a long day lol

Should be ok

Brake light switch is a straight swap, no bleeding necessary.
Try joining the two wires first though to make sure the switch isn't working.
