first time out in bus since september brakes didn't seem to good fluid level was good pedal travel excessive with very little bite to the braking a little concerning any ideas .its a1970 with discs on front drums rear

If there are no leaks try to bleed the brakes.
Also, when was the last time you replaced the brake fluid? Replace every three years.

fluid changed just before mot august . would the master cylinder make any difference as this was'nt changed when disc upgrade was done ? will bleed brakes this coming weekend just to make sure there's no air in system
