Also started the resto on a westfalia trailer.................watch this space. Today was the strip down, How well are these little trailers put together? Work grinds to a halt now as im at work for the next 3 weeks.
It was like this this morning, but stripped down to about 40 bits. Much polishing, painting, sanding and greasing lays ahead but im hoping it will be worth it.

Only my opinion Clyde but I think you could do with a nice chrome badge to finish off the front end .
Look forward to seeing the westy trailer resto too matey 8)

Looking good 8)
I have been thinking about getting one of these trailers as a wife, 3 kids & a dog dont leave a lot of space in our dormobile when going on holiday. Will be watching your rebuild with interest.

I do see where your coming from Grazy but im still in two minds and i do like a white badge.
Ive not had the trailer to carry more gear, but to free up the space in the van so you dont have to have that "move this to get to that then put it back again" Youll all have had that experiance.

Oh know i see what you ment by the bed in the roof  I must get one of those.
see you soon m8

Move this to get at that etc, god do I know what you mean! Not going the trailer route, but getting an awning to set up the kitchen etc when we get there. Drive away so you can leave it just as you would a tent.

Ive got an awning pete, i was thinking more about when im on my way. Awning, cool boxes, clothes bags, wind brake etc etc and theres soon no room for the wife and daughter. Im thiking if i put it all in the trailer then i will still only take the same amount of stuff (so no more weight) but everyone has plenty of room. Also for weekend shows i dont bother with the awning and stuff really gets in the way then.

UMMMMMM BLING!

Every time I buy something for my bus (I picked up a westy trailer at Vanfest too) there is someone who goes one step better.....

And that is what inspires us.....keep up the good work....your bus looks fantastic. 8)

Where did you get your conti bed? I would be able to get my lad to sleep in the roof then. He doesn't like the bunk. Fussy B***er.

How's your trailer resto going Jon?

I paid £100 for the bed (its in very good condition with all the parts) They do come up every now and again for sale but apparently they only came fitted to european 72 Continental Westys so not exactly rare but maybe hard to find.
The trailer is on hold for the the moment Cali bay while im at work but watch this space.
Faux im not trying to go one step better, i just like finding new bits to improve my bus, either to make it more useable or to make it more "deluxe" (ie hard to find stuff)
The BRM as a spare was just to save me having to carry spare wheel nuts for a steel, which most probley wouldnt fit now the bus is lowered!, same with the bed really just needed more space so the cot had to go. Id would have loved to keep the bus nearly stock, but i use it for camping so need it to be more practical.

You could of cleaned the bird poo off your wind screen before you posted the photos!!!!!!!!!!!!!! scum bag!!!!!!!
