Breaking News ....

There will a special trophy presented to one Early Bay from the line up.

This will be the Robert Johnson Memorial award, and only vans within the EB line up will be eligible. The award will be chosen by Roberts young son, Henry ... so will very much be based upon 'his favourite' of the day.

A wonderful touch, I hope you all agree. :D

I certainly second that as a great touch and I hope we put on a display to be proud of.

2 more vans booked in for EB camping (me n Nezza), we'll be glad to add to the line up.

Clyde, if i remenber right the EB and split camping was back to back last year so you'll should be with your buds. ;)

Wont be in Split camping Mac ill just be in general camping. Ive got a EB camping pass if anyone really needs to be in that camp but cant get in for one reason or another. Just get my number off someone and come and fetch it.

There is ample space in Early Bay for anyone whos booked in .... Im not aware there have ever been any rules set. :) Everyone is welcome!

Cheers, Mike

Didnt realize this was the case Clem. I remember asking about camping with some friends from abroard a few years ago and was told it was exclusive early bay which meant some of my party couldnt camp with me.
Not to worry anyway, ive only got one EB pass and my group will be about 5 vans of different types so see you at the show.
Will being part of the EB line up mean you have to stay and display till late on Sunday?
Weather is still looking good for the weekend. 8)

Jon

The line up normally thins out from about 2-3 pm onwards. Join in and get off when you need to, it's all laid back.

See you there :)

Excelent show, like the vide and can really teach Vanfest a few tricks. If i was running VF id be very worried because i think CJ is on the up and the same cant be said for the VF.

Didnt see a single Earlybayer............I was camped in Home is where you park it and we had loads of room and 3 toilets to ourselves basically.

Loved it, well done Dave and the gang, your team where a credit to you. Smiling faces and waving people always tick my boxes at a show. Just one question...........did you have any security because if you did i never saw any. None was needed from what i saw though and maybe this is the secret. Keep up the good work. :D

We had a fantastic time at CJ this weekend and as a result met some of you in the early bay line up today and have joined the forum tonight. we have an Early Bay with super Viking conversion, still needs some work but we love him loads.... unfortunately he wasn't with us this weekend because he went in for his MOT two weeks ago and needed a new front axle. Brought tickets for run to the sun so hope to meet some of you EB.com peeps there..... :)

Also meant to say...well done to matrix for winning the special award...:) amazing bus...

Welcome to the forum. I hope youve not been robbed, Run to the Sun is May bank holiday.........?
Could it be run to the hills?
Post up some piccys of the bus when you get it sorted.

Thanks to everyone who came and joined in the line up - we didnt anticipate so many coming along and so the initial spacing was a bit generous meaning that vans joining in later were in front or behind .... never mind, we had a load of vans, and a load of interest! Fantastic. :)

The show was superb and gets better each time. Loads to do, great weather, friendly staff and a top location. All the funfair stuff was very well priced for the kids and at night time, the general atmosphere was really cool - two tents with music and a food area between filled with people chilling out in the warm evening.

If Camperjam can stay as it is right now and continue, then its a must do each year for me. Well done to the CJ Team!

We choose this show to come back to because of the 'family friendly' approach that we saw signs of last year, and I think it showed that they had listened to last years comments and it was even better.

I agree with Clyde, don't think I've seen so many smiley faces around - for all sorts of different reasons I'm sure - but people from all sorts of walks of life with different vans just seemed well up for a good weekend, and I must say the standard of general friendliness from the Camperjam team in yellow t-shirts was terrific from the first arrival to the final wave as you left.

Big plus for youngsters is the adventure playground in the grounds by the house as that kept them well amused and active on Sunday afternoon.

And although I think we were surprised at the reduction in space we had in club camping compared with being spoilt last year in the VIP area, I like the fact that you can pre book family space, general space, club space or home is where you park it big space.
The layout was better, the food area was better both in location and variety/quality and as others have said even the fairground was not too much of a rip off.

The weather helped, otherwise some of the not so good points like not enough showers, loo issues, not enough VW traders, too many fluffy cushion sellers and the usual moans etc etc etc could have come in for more stick

Good to see some different earlybays as well, great support in recognition of for David & Cee's loss earlier in the year - probably the EB equivalent of a minutes applause instead of a minutes silence

And one of the good things about the scene at the moment, if you organise a good show with the best intentions at realistic prices and not just a money making machine then word of mouth will spread the message and it will be supported. And if Camperjam isn't your cup of tea then Peppercorn also has had some great reviews again - what a great weekend for driving a bus

Gotta agree with that. The only issues we had were toilet ones but apart from that we had no complaints whatsoever. A fantastic event. This was our first proper vw event, absolutely fantastic atmosphere all weekend. A massive well done to the organisers who even got the weather sorted somehow!!! ;-)

It seems the SSVC had some similar questions regarding this ... and that area remained sparsely poulated all weekend. No big deal, nor did it affect the weekend, but maybe something we can re-sort with the organisers for next year?

Think the reduction in space was the only real let down, or maybe last year we were spoilt
Next year if everyone books club (earlybay) camping then i'm sure we'll get a bigger plot HINT HINT ;)

Dave (cotswoldriver) sums up the show perfectly. A great weekend and great show. 8)

The lack of parts sales did however save me some money

The only other disappointing thing to add was the cancellation of the Wild West Show which our kids were really looking forward to, with just a statement of ‘due to unforeseen circumstances…..’.

With the best will in the world these things happen though. :)

It was great to catch up with other EB’ers and our kids had a great time playing with the other kiddie Eb’ers. Thanks and sorry to Wensbry (Steve) for his impromptu child minding service

Thought I'd already replied to this but doesn't seam to be on the board so I'll try again. Yes I did mean run to the hills oops.....I was very tired Sunday eve and brain had switched off!!!!, well that's my excuse anyway and the one I'm sticking too. lol

Will post some pic's soon...got some on my main computer, on laptop at the moment.

Still buzzing from the weekend, this was the first show we'd taken the children to and they loved it...I agree with all above and like others the only let down for us was the lack of toilets....the smell was not good but there was nothing they could do about that.....had a great chat with one of the sanitary guys!!!! apparently they were running around like blue arsed fly's all weekend and were still refilling loo roll when most people were leaving on the Sunday afternoon. He also said that CJ organisers hadn't booked enough toilets, so everyone please make this known once they post the questionnaire's on the CJ web site.

cheers

Reading elsewhere, it seems they were taken by surprise by the number of punters who turned up and payed on the gate, so did they're best to get more facilities but were st the mercy of the contractors

The nice weather brought out the fair weather campers ;)

We had a great weekend too, especially the little jamming session on Sat night.

Cali_Bay the child minding was a pleaure and in the Early Bay section all of the kids were as good as gold.

Roll on the next one.

This was our first camperjam and it will now be a regular. The excellent weekend was topped off by a visit to Drayton Park on Monday.

Only a couple of comments. We were there from the Friday lunchtime and the toilets just were not upto standard from the beginning with little or no water to wash with. I work in construction and can provide a long list of site accommodation specialists who have dozens of toilet units standing doing noting and would be glad of the business. Also as mentioned above not may spares suppliers (wanted a pair of new rear lenses, a length of curtain track and a Petronix, got none). Apart from this had an excellent time and the staff were excellent (that Shelly who did the dog show was foxy!)

the company supplying toilets suggested how many for numbers we expected..
but we did not expect sooo many! never fear it is being addressed as I write!
Likewise am on case re camping spot....
and if you were part of EB line up please pm me with address I have a plaque for you!
I am thinking about having the Rob award for a nice early bay as permanent feature cos I love the way you guys frame the showfield...
