Hey guys

as the title says, I live near Huntingdon and have been to view a 72 dormobile for sale in Peterborough twice now, second time today without the rose tinted specs!! :D

Think it needs a lot of body work (does have MOT until Dec) my partner looked over it today, he's had years of experience tinkering with bikes & cars & thinks I am mad but there is something about, it's saying "rescue me" lol

anyway just wondering if anyone knows of a body shop specialist or someone that knows a lot about buses that could perhaps view it with me!! a bit of a long shot

I have searched & found these guys http://zedsbusgarage.co.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; so will give them a call to see if they can help

cheers
Jo

if some one that just tinckers thinks your mad then someone in the trade will defenitly say the same.my rule for classics and body work is..the bit you can see is usually less than 10% of the problem.if its a bubble its usually a hole before you have finished, and under every patch is another one

prob not what you wanted to hear, stick some pics up of what ya think is dodgey, people on hear will give you an onest opinion

Steve at Zeds is a really nice bloke, and will give you an honest opinion I'm sure. He's done some work on my van and I can recommend him. Good Luck. :)

Try Auto mechanical on Midland road, not used them myself recommendation from a friend, or I could drop in a have a look for you and see what the score is........

lol strongy, not really what I want to hear :D
didn't take many pics so doesn't really show the bad points!!

Thanks Araon will keep that in mind, will call zeds today and see what they say first.

Heard good things about Zeds and Araon knows his stuff and isnt too far from you, best way to learn about a van is to get to know someone with one ;)

Hi,
If you dont mind travelling a slight tad further north to Boston in Lincolnshire try C & C Autos (VW Specialists), very good. :D

Well I spoke to Steve today at Zeds, very nice guy told me pretty much what I suspected but not what I wanted to hear  looking at several thousand and with the guy asking 4k ono its way out of my price range plus doesn't seem that its worth that!!

So the hunt goes on......................

Steve/Zed is a mainstay of the Techenders w/e organised on the JK website - loads of experience

Honestly, if he says don't touch it, then leave well alone

gerry

I had Steve poking round my bus at my place last week, no experiance of his work, but seems a top bloke, was more than happy with him ...Me thinks he'll end up doing atleast part of my resto project ...Once i snap out of this 'Do the lot myself mind set' and give up! ;) ...

A 2k bus.....and a long winter project....hes done enough to pass an MOT....

all the panels, sills and doors are shot however the central chassis and floor looks really good

for the money you have to spend put it into a good basic shell and work up.....

Again thanks Araon for looking at it, not a project for me but maybe someone else!!
Funnily enough saw it advertised on the essex vdubs stand at volks today :D
