I took the other halfs car for it's 1 year inspection.......

Came back it needs oil! ......I filled it up

3 mths later I took the same car for it's mileage service.........

Came back it needs new wiper blades  ....guess i'm a gonna be changin them

WTF....this is a main dealer....and the brand is not bottom of the pile...think above Ford/VW/Vauxhaul type thing (in the current market ;) obviously)

Why do you send them for a service if they do F.A!!!!

Calm Calm Calm.....

easy to explain, probably didnt need oil, but its something you probably dont check, so easy for them to make money, next time say no thanks, then check it on the forcourt before you drive away, I bet it wont need it.

scammers the lot of em ;)

my dad took his audi A4 to audi for a service and they charged him something like £10+ to fill his windscreen washer up. he told them something like, "i've just spent £28k on an audi with you and i filled my washer up last week so dont take the piss next time!"

Luckily I managed to get pre-paid servicing on my Mitsubishi for 3 years for £500 8) - now the main dealer just shafts the manufacturer and not me

oh thats nothing.. get into bikes.. ive used 2 main dealers in the yr ive had the bike.. i do big miles, pay lots of money.. still dont get anything id ever mistake as service.. 10 to fill up the chain oiler, something thats not part of service nor something i ask for wsa the best one so far.

i have to go cos i need that stamp in the book :( its like a tax, glad i got a good deal on the bike in the first place.. i quickly learnt they give you a good deal on the bike only to try and get the money back in servicing!
grrr

...they did wash it.
i am always surprised they dont charge you for the wash.. at least the water.. im mean its speaial dealer water.. must be 100 a litre anywhere!

when the mother in law took her then new fiesta back to fords for its first year service they replaced the rear drums n shoes... i wasnt happy but she was convinced the dealership wouldnt do it unless nessecery, the car was less than a year old!
thing is 10 years on she still has the car and it doesnt even have 22k on the mileometer!
theiving gits

I remember reading somewhere that most Newly registered cars are actually about 3 years old but because they were never registered they are still classed as new.

balls up's my dealer made - bought my car new and the twats put the wrong registration plates on it.......and didn't notice for 6 months until they tried to explain that I didn't have a service plan as my reg number wasn't on the system?

But by far the worst.....same dealer - px'd my old car and they were meant to clear down the finance agreement I had on it - but didn't  - so for 4 months I was paying for my old car, whilst they had in the meantime sold it on to someone else? rang the finance company and they said "don't carry on paying and we'll reclaim your car" ... from some poor soul who bought it off the dealer and had no idea that the finance company owned his motor (fiesta ST nice car!) - a real port of last resort but only mitsubishi (amoungst others) dealer for miles around so no choice but to use them - latest issue was a 3 month wait to get parts for a brake recall after booking it in and wasting a day whilst they attempted to fit the wrong parts - other problems have been services that just seem to stop halfway through (car just left outside half finished and unlocked?!)

Real shame as I'm well pleased with the car - it's the useless dealer!

What is even more annoying is a guy in my office knows the service manager and gets fleet rates compared to general public......it's about half the price that us normal folk get stung with

I worked at a Chevrolet dealer in California and I can tell you they try to get you anyway they can , in sales , finance , but specially in the service department they even tried to scam me an employee of same dealership with things my new truck did not really needed , later I found out they work on commission so they get a percentage of whatever they can sell you.
Thieves they are :x
