i have no idea what you mean? although i do like if you search poo bus or bollyknickers on google loads of pics of my van come up
lol @ bollyknickers
WRT ranking - so the search engine ranking (who gets to the top of the list on google) is related to both the content and also links to the content and supporting information (metatags e.t.c.) within the forum and how accessable it is to google when they crawl the web (using spiders - it's true :animal0017: )
If you search for "VW bay forum" earlybay.com comes up first 8) - this will be based on the fact that the site has been around longer, larger amount of content e.t.c.
However - thelatebay is built on VBulletin which has SEO (search engine optimisation) that makes it much easier for spiders to crawl the links, has search engine friendly URLS on posts - so a link to a forum thread on here is e.g. "earlybay.com/forum/viewtopic.php?=22339506" and on the latebay the link is "thelatebay.org/thread-title" which search engines really value and the result is they put those pages up the rankings
An example - if you search for something where all the keywords are within the forum:
thelatebay.org is right up there - and rivals volkszone for page rankings which is fantastic (and flattering for your techies!) - it's why VZI, Heritage e.t.c. all changed their websites, as page ranking = popularity = members/sales so is really important
Not that I'm a competitive techie geek or anything....
I'll shutup now - and well done on your page ranking
