Can't open the tailgate!

Evening all,

Unfortunately I can't seem to open my tailgate!
What do I do?
The key works, but the push button doesn't seem to do anything.
I can't work out what to do from the inside either.

Either the spring has come off the keeper or is broken, or the arm that releases the spring is broken.

Have you tried opening it with the key in the lock? Mine won't open unless the key is in.

Take the panel of the inside of the tailgate you can then access the lock

a flat crow bar in a sock used from the inside can lift the door up and over the pin. somehow mine closed in a very wrong way and this was only solution. some washers under the catch on the floor lifted it up and a much snugger fit.
