Chargin system

Hello,
Still having charging issues with my van after the engine had been out. I have still got a few things to check. I have found a wire that has been hiding very well from me after putting the engine back in. I think this wire may have something to do with the charging system. It runs through a grommet on the back left side of the engine bay, it has an inline fuse connected and looks to belong on the coil some where. I think it could lead to the either the ign or the gen light?
I have stuck a pic up, if anybody has any suggestions please let me know as a full alt convertion kit will be on its way.

That sounds suspiciously like the feed to the reversing lights. It should be connected to terminal 15 (+) of the coil, but will have no bearing on your charging issues.
