Out daughter is 10 and we are trying to make our bus as children safe as possible when we travel.
Does anyone sell a fitting for a retractable seatbelt for the rear seats. I assume you cannot fit the new type seat belts at the back of the bus because of the rock and roll bed will not be able to work? Is there anything that can be fitted to the middle seat and side with the wardrobe (we have a westy).

Also, we would like the option of having a middle seat up the front. Was there ever a conversion for a middle seat and was it removable/collapsible when not in use? If there was, is their a seat belt solution for that as well?

I have read a few posts on here about fitting the right seat belts but I have not come across anything that answer these fully.

Anyone thought of anything else to make the bus as safe as possible for kids?

Hi Mark

You can fit an inertia reel seatbelt on the window side of a westy (I thought yours had one fitted or was it just a static?). Just Kampers sell the ones but the only issue is they sit a bit low as they are lower than the height of the backrest. If you watch this space we will have a solution for this soon.

Wardrobe side but is a bit harder but not impossible

scroll down for the infill seat.

How's your bus by the way, are you starting to enjoy it?

Hi Graham,
We have the original seat belts fitted at the moment and we do have the inertia belts but they were never fitted. Sounds interesting fixing you are planning, look like we will be asking you to fit one of these and our inertia belts we have the next time you have our bus booked in.

matt-me,
Our bus was booked into Grahams a couple of weeks back and he sorted out a number of problems. Touch wood, it has been as good as gold since then. In fact, we had our first couple of night in it last weekend to test everything out.......bliss! Now I know why we brought one....had a great family weekend and pretty good night sleep as well :D

Thanks for the info guys.

I've just had these chaps

put 2 seat belts in the back of my Westie. follow the link & scroll down on the column to the right of the screen.

At £138 + vat per belt, it isn't cheap but I hadn't found a less expensive alternative.
