Hey im new on here, jus come across this site, I baught my 72 bay bout 6 months ago now as a project. Engines been overhauled now and iv done a few bits and pieces, managed to salvage some bumpers and restore them etc.
Finally got a bit of cash together to get it into the bodyshop, its been in there 6 weeks now and should be ready for primer this week :D ...BUT... im still really unsure about a colour, iv been through every colour conbination possible and its driving me mental now, lol.
Jus wondered if anyones got any info on what type of paint and colours work best on a bay with bodywork thats not guna be perfectly flat! Iv been told to avoid the deep red that i originally wanted. Do mettalics work or pearlescent paints as iv thought about a nice pearl yellow aswell.

Also if anyone knows a website where i can find pics or the names of the original factory paints

Any help would be great, thanx

nearest is probably chelmsford, were also gonna be going on mass to the Stansted show in April, we dont bite, and ur welcome to turn up in a daily dude

welcome to EB 8) ,

generally deep and dark colours will show up any bodywork imperfections, i would go for a lighter colour like savannah beige or dove blue, lighter and flatter colours wont show dents and dings up as much.

Avoid metallics as if you have a damaged panel they are much more harder to blend in again if you need to respray one section.

there are alot of really nice Original colours that would work for you. best thing would be to have a look in the gallery section and some of our vans and ask the owner for the colour
